Just a quick note to say that this is a great book. It really confronts the issue of where is God during life’s tragedies. Not sure all the questions are answered, but certainly a new perspective is posited. Enjoy!!!

Robin – here’s the email we circulated about that book. I tell you, when I finished reading it, I think I felt more joyful – and peaceful about life than I did before. I just sensed much more of a ‘partnership’ with God then I did before. I’m glad y’all liked it too!

Although I usually read nonfiction – this fictional story of a man who has experienced a horrible family tragedy and is later invited to spend a weekend with God – certainly reads like nonfiction. The author is so good I had to keep reminding myself it wasn’t true. I WANTED it to be true. 🙂 After reading this, nothing about your life, or the life of others around you will look the same. I don’t want to tell more of the plot, for fear of taking away the joy of discovery that I loved so much as I read. BUT – if you’d like some insight into how God feels about His Creation – both humanity and nature, while learning more about the value He places on you then be sure and order this! It also gave me the ability to step back and see the big picture that God sees in all his creation – how everything fits together both presently and things we know not of in the future.
It isn’t available for purchase through bookstores yet – having just been released – but you can order it through the website http://www.theshackbook.com
I read it in a day and half – you just don’t want to put it down. I truly feel like I did just spend a glorious weekend with Him – and I want you to experience it, too. Let me know what you thought about it, if you order it. The website is also set up for blogs, comments, poetry, just whatever you feel moved to express – and believe me – you’ll be wanting to express when you’ve finished it! Find a friend to also read it, so you’ll have someone to talk to about it, face to face. Luckily – talks are already in the works about making this into a movie.
